Police clearance report via SMS service launched in Sharjah

Sharjah Police launched mobile phone application for Police Clearance Certificate

Sharjah: Sharjah police has launched a new smart service in order to obtain certificates of good conduct (also called police clearance certificates) via sms. The service is available in both English and Arabic languages, and can be accessed by sending an sms to 7999.

The new service was launched by Major General Humaid Mohammad Al Hudaidi, General Commander of Sharjah Police.

If the certificate is required in Arabic the person can SMS: 1 space, ID No and purpose of the certificate. If it is required in English: the person should write in the sms number 2 space, ID No, space and purpose of the certificate. The applicant will receive an sms with the reference no, and upon accepting his application, the sender will receive another message stating that the transaction was executed and the certificate can be collected from any police station.

A police clearance certificate is an important document which serves as proof that the person has no criminal record or previously involved in criminal, breach of trust cases or violation of law both in his home country and during his residence in the UAE. Both Emiratis and expats able to obtain this certificate.

The move came in line with directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai regarding the activation of smart services.

Al Hudaidi lauded efforts of all those taking part in enriching Sharjah Police smart services. The launch of the new service coincides with the end of the academic year, a time when police clearance certificate are in demand by High school graduates.

The service also can be obtained from Sharjah Police website .

A Sharjah Police official said that the clearance certificate is an important document that is required when applying for a job, visa or other purposes. The service is available to all UAE residents who have obtained government services in Sharjah.
