Dubai: A visitor has pleaded innocent to the charge of threatening to publish pictures of a naked Filipina on Facebook, after he allegedly raped her twice, a court heard on Monday.

Prosecutors accused the 22-year-old Pakistani visitor S.T. of luring the Filipina to his office, where she claimed he sexually assaulted her, took pictures of her naked in a shower with his phone camera, and threatened to post them on Facebook.

Defence

"The photos were taken with her consent...I am not guilty and I did not rape her or send her threatening messages or emails," said S.T. when he defended himself before the Dubai Court of First Instance.

Prosecutors charged S.T., according to the arraignment sheet, with deceiving the Filipina, J.M., and raping her in his office. He was also charged with breaching her privacy and taking snapshots of her naked.

He was also charged with sending her emails and text messages in which he threatened to kill her and post her pictures online if she reported what happened to the police.

A Yemeni police first corporal, who questioned J.M., testified that the defendant tricked the Filipina and invited her to a beach party in Jumeirah.

"When I questioned her, she alleged that he convinced her to go with him to his office to give her a plane ticket ... then he locked the door and raped her on the desk.

"She also claimed that he raped her in the shower and use his mobile phone camera and took pictures of her naked. Around 4.30am he dropped her back home in Ajman.

"J.M. claimed that the next day he sent her a text message saying ‘accept Dh5,000 for your silence concerning the incident'. He sent her a second message saying ‘cooperate with me or you will be in trouble and this is your final warning'.

"She rushed to the nearest police station in Ajman to report the incident immediately after she received the third message and which read, ‘I will post your picture on the internet if you don't cooperate'."

Police line-up

Prosecution records said the Filipina was referred to Dubai police for jurisdictional purposes. J.M. identified the defendant three times in a police line-up.

Presiding Judge Hamad Abdul Latif Abdul Jawad adjourned the case until May 3 to assign a lawyer to defend S.T., who remains in custody.
