One dead and a four-year old seriously injured in separate road accidents in UAE's east coast
An Asian was killed and another two injured after the truck they were traveling in crashed and rolled over the mountainous Wadi Al Hilow road near Kalba.
Kalba/Fujairah: An Asian was killed and another two injured after the truck they were traveling in crashed and rolled over the mountainous Wadi Al Hilow road near Kalba.
The accident happened late on Tuesday near the major tunnel on the road linking Sharjah with Kalba and the east coast.
Police suspect the driver ignored strict warnings banning overtaking by trucks in an especially steep part of the road near Al Madheeq.
Police said the Asian died due to his injuries while the other two passengers were taken to Kalba Hospital, suffering from serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
In a separate incident in Fujairah, a four-year-old Emirati child is in a serious condition after he was ran over by a car in Sakamkam late on Tuesday.
The child was riding his bicycle near his residence when he was hit by a car driven by an Emirati who claims he was surprised by the sudden appearance of the child on the road from behind a parked truck.
A source at Fujairah Hospital said the child suffered serious fractures and injuries.
