Gets two months for trespassing into her villa
Dubai: A newspaper boy has been cleared of groping a woman but will spend two months in jail for trespassing into her villa. The Dubai Court of First Instance on Thursday jailed the 24-year-old Bangladeshi newspaper boy, M.S., for trespassing into the 28-year-old housewife's villa.
Pronouncing the judgment in courtroom seven, Presiding Judge Hamad Abdul Latif Abdul Jawad acquitted M.S. of molesting the woman, M.M., while she slept.
Prosecutors had accused M.S. of molesting the Emirati housewife and trespassing into her home.
"No, I did not touch her. And I did not trespass into her residence," said M.S. when he defended himself in court.
According to the charge sheet, prosecutors said M.S. groped M.M. while she slept. He did so after he trespassed into her bedroom through the living room window.
M.M. testified she felt someone's hand on her while she slept in her bedroom in her Al Safa home.
Yelled at suspect
"I woke immediately and yelled at the suspect, who stood right behind me. He ran out of the house. I called my husband who was asleep in the other room. I phoned my parents who live close by. My dad arrived immediately and he took my husband and they went out looking for the suspect around the house. We reported it to the police," she told prosecutors.
Prosecution records said M.S. was arrested the next day. Police summoned M.M. to identify him in a line-up.
According to primary investigations, M.M. said the defendant left his sandal behind when he escaped.
