Sharjah: A mother of two was killed after she fell from the twelfth floor in a building in Sharjah, police said Saturday.
Police said the Indian mother fell from the balcony of her apartment in Al Mussala area.
According to a police official, the mother who is in her late thirties was alone in her apartment and fell from the balcony on Thursday at around 5pm.
Police said the watchman of the building reported that a woman was found dead on the ground under the building.
The neighbours who witnessed the incident said the woman had come from Kerala on Monday.
"She is a mother of one son and one daughter," the neighbours said.
"She was staying in her sister's apartment in Sharjah," the neighbours added.
"The husband of the woman was ill and she took him back to Kerala last week and came to stay with her sister in our building," the witness said.
Police said the woman, who used to work and live here, was alone when she fell down from her sister's apartment.
Police said the woman had her family living with her but they left for India on Monday.
Police said the woman had come back alone on Wednesday from Kerala state without her family.
The police official said the death of the woman is still under investigation.
"The woman could have committed suicide," police said.
