Mentally challenged teenage boy raped in Bur Dubai

Teenager's condition poses challenge in identifying perpetrator

Dubai: A mentally challenged teenager was raped in a deserted area in Bur Dubai, Arabic dailies have reported.

The Pakistani boy believed to be 16 was sodomised by a man who picked him up and took him to a deserted place in Bur Dubai, said Brigadier Khalil Ebrahim Al Mansouri, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department.

The boy's father reported the matter to the police after his son was missing for hours.

The mental condition of the boy poses a challenge to the police in identifying the criminal. Gulf News has learnt that hundreds are being interrogated.

"He did not provide any significant information about the suspect. Every time we ask him about a potential suspect he randomly says yes to every single one, even if we also pointed to our own police force officials," said a police source.

Police found evidence in the deserted area where the father found the boy. The incident happened more than a week ago.
