Fujairah: Three men accused of raping a Filipino housemaid at her employer's home in Mirbeh appeared at the Fujairah Criminal Court.
Two suspects, K.A.R., 21, and, A.A.J., 19, both Emirati residents of Fujairah, were charged with rape, physical assault and illegal entry into the residence of S.A.S., the Emirati employer of the victim.
The third, Emirati K.M.J., 17, was charged with complicity in the attack, by directing the two suspects to the victim's room.
Police investigation revealed that on the night of February 8, K.M.J. was away in Dubai, but knew that the Filipino maid, M.A.M., was alone at home.
He then called the other two suspects and directed them to the house. The duo gained entry into the house by climbing its walls and then entered the victim's room while she was asleep.
K.M.J. had earlier told the other suspects that he was having an affair with the maid.
The first suspect, K.A.R., admitted during interrogation that he forced the victim down and raped her, while A.A.J. stood vigil outside in the yard and was waiting for his turn.
The victim, who was pined downed and muffled, tried to fight back and even managed to bite the hand of her attacker, but he responded by kicking and punching her.
Despite this, M.A.M. managed to scream, which startled the attackers, and they fled - with the second attacker leaving his shoe behind.
Soon after, the house owner S.A.S. reported the incident to the police who, after a short investigation, arrested K.A.R. , the key suspect.
Medical examination of the victim revealed injuries commensurate with physical assault and confirmed that she had lost her virginity due to rape.
The court hearings were adjourned until the end of the month.
