Dubai: A general manager has been accused of caressing a waitress’ behind at the poolside of a beach club and cursing a security guard while he was under the influence of alcohol.

Prosecutors charged the 44-year-old Danish manager, U.R., with sexually molesting the Macedonian waiter by caressing her posterior and cursing the woman’s colleague when they asked him to leave the club.

The suspect was also charged with consuming liquor.

“No, I am not guilty. I did not touch her. And I did not curse anyone. Yes, sir, I had alcohol,” argued U.R. when he defended himself at the Dubai Court of First Instance.

His lawyer asked Presiding Judge Maher Salama Al Mahdi to adjourn the case so he could present his written defence.

According to the accusation sheet, prosecutors said the defendant made the most of the fact that the poolside at the club was busy with clubbers when he groped the waitress.

The 29-year-old waitress testified that the incident happened when the defendant and his friends arrived at the club wanting a table although they did not have a reservation.

“They wanted to sit at a table without ordering drinks… that is against the club’s policy. I told them that they could not have a table without ordering drinks. While I was discussing the issue with them, the suspect came very close to me. I tried to stay away from him… but he came very close and caressed my bum. I cried out loudly before the security kicked them out,” claimed the Macedonian.

An Indian security guard testified that when the men arrived, U.R., who as obviously drunk, jumped into the pool with his clothes on.

“We pulled him out of the pool. We kept a close eye on the men because they were drunk. They sat on one of the tables without a reservation. When they acted against the club’s rules, they were asked to leave the place. While they were discussing the issue with the waiter, I spotted the suspect putting his hand on her back and groping it. She yelled at him and they were all asked to leave because they were drunk,” claimed the guard. The court reconvenes on December 5.
