Man 'repeatedly raped mentally disabled woman'
man who reportedly took advantage of a mentally disabled woman and told her he loved her before repeatedly raping her, stood trial.
Dubai: A man who reportedly took advantage of a mentally disabled woman and told her he loved her before repeatedly raping her, stood trial on Wednesday.
The 39-year-old Indian dye worker, S.Y., has been charged with abusing the 26-year-old Asian woman and raping her on several occasions.
"I love you... I want to kiss you...," was what the woman cited the suspect as telling her when she gave her statement.
Records said she saw S.Y. paying Dh100 or more to the maid following one of the alleged rapes which happened in the room of the 33-year-old Indonesian housemaid who was charged with aiding and abetting the crime.
"I am innocent... I did not give a helping hand to the suspect," the housemaid, identified as J.B., told the Dubai Court of First Instance yesterday.
The suspect denied the rape charge and told Presiding Judge Fahmi Mounir: "No... I am not guilty... it didn't happen."
The Public Prosecution charged S.Y., with touching the girl, luring her into the housemaid's room where he undressed and raped her.
Meanwhile J.B. was charged with aiding and abetting S.Y. by bringing the victim to her room.
"He entered the hall and asked to talk to me outside the house which was empty then. We stood beside the room of the housemaid whom I asked to come with me. He said he loved me and wanted to sleep with me... While I scolded him, the housemaid left and then he touched me. J.B. refused to answer my shouts for help. Then he gave me his mobile number and photos and asked me to hand them to J.B.," claimed the woman in her statement.
She alleged that the next day the housemaid left her in the room then the suspect locked the door, removed his clothes and raped her again.
"I saw him giving her about Dh100 after we dressed and left the room... he asked me to call him after two to three days and he repeated what he did," she said.
Her brothers confirmed the incident before reporting it to the police. S.Y. denied having intercourse with the woman but said he had touched her.
Medical reports said the woman had been mentally ill since childhood. Forensic doctors who examined her said there were no signs of recent sexual intercourse.
