Man arrested over telecom fraud in Ras Al Khaimah

Police arrested a Bangladeshi national here on Sunday for selling airtime for international phone calls at cheap rates, via the internet.

Ras Al Khaimah: Police arrested a Bangladeshi national here on Sunday for selling airtime for international phone calls at cheap rates, via the internet.

Police raided an embroidery shop here, owned by the suspect, and arrested him and one of his clients, while the latter was speaking to his family back home through an internet call.

Sources said the infringement was first discovered by etisalat, which reported the case to the police for further investigation.
