Abu Dhabi : A 75-year-old man has been accused of illegally entering the country. The Iranian national tried to slip into the country after boarding a boat without a valid passport or visa.
The Abu Dhabi Criminal Court charged the accused with forgery. He allegedly put his photo on a medical card that didn't belong to him.
The suspect was also charged with illegally entering the UAE after being deported for violating the immigration law.
The accused confessed to illegally entering the country but denied the forgery charge. He said he was given the card and was not aware that it was fake. He pleaded with the court to grant him remission in view of his age and poor health. The court was adjourned for a final sentence on May 22.
