Mall jewellery store staff feel relieved
Staff at jewellery stores in Wafi City have reacted with delight to the news that three people were arrested in connection with the robbery.
Dubai: Staff at jewellery stores in Wafi City have reacted with delight to the news that three people were arrested in connection with the robbery.
Employees say business at the mall is now back to normal following a slight dip in the wake of the incident.
The Graff store that was targeted in the raid remains boarded up and closed to customers.
Haysam Modares, manager of the Tiffany and Co store at Wafi, said he was "very happy" to hear of the arrests. "I feel very comfortable and safe now," he said.
At the nearby Al Moallin Jewellery outlet, sales manager Helen Kim said she was impressed by the speedy arrests. "It took two weeks. This is perfect, thanks to the police. This is a very good job," she told Gulf News.
She added that the mall was "empty" for three or four days after the incident on April 15 but since then business has picked up.

The assistant manager at Damas store, Haytham Youness, said: "It is very good that they caught them in just two weeks. Now that they have arrested the three, the situation will be better. It makes me feel safer."
'Tough task'
Amit Savla, a sales executive at a Rivoli store in the mall, said: "It was a very quick robbery so it was difficult [to catch them] .... We have security cameras but in this kind of situation you cannot do anything."
Reem Samarie, a sales executive at another jewellery store in Wafi City, said "for sure" he was pleased to hear of the arrests.
