Khor Fakkan: Sharjah Police have arrested a man who they believe specialised in house burglaries.
The suspect was identified as M.A.M.
Sharjah Police formed a special team after receiving a burglary complaint from an Emirati man about a burglar who entered the house in Al Musalla area of Khor Fakkan and stole a safety deposit box which contained precious items.
The safety deposit box contained gold, six mobile phones and money.
Police said the suspect is said to have hidden the stolen booty at a construction site after the residential heist.
Colonel Ahmad Khamis Al Mutawa, acting director of Eastern Region Police, said police learnt the identify of the suspect and arrested him soon after.
The case has been referred to the public prosecution for further action.
Col Al Mutawa urged all house owners to take the necessary precautions that prevent the occurrence of such thefts such as the use of cameras or security alarms and ensure all doors are secured when they leave the house.
