Dubai: A hairdresser will spend a month behind bars for stealing six hair extensions from the salon where she worked, ruled a court.

Dubai Court of Misdemeanour found the 37-year-old Vietnamese hairdresser, T.T., guilty of stealing the hair extensions which were worth between Dh5,000 and Dh6,000, on January 19.

"The suspect came into the salon and walked directly up to the first floor with her handbag.

"This is against our policy. The employees are constantly asked to leave their handbags in the ground floor," testified the salon's manager.

The stolen items were found in the purse of the accused when she left the salon.
