Gang held for impersonating policemen and robbing people

A six-member gang has been arrested in Ajman for impersonating policemen and robbing people of their money and belongings.

Ajman: A six-member gang has been arrested in Ajman for impersonating policemen and robbing people of their money and belongings.

The gang members attacked and beat some Asians in the old and new industrial areas in Ajman. Pretending to be policemen, they stole their money and mobile phones.

Ajman Police formed a team to search for the suspects. After some time, the first suspect, an Arab national, was nabbed.

He confessed to assaulting the victims with a knife after telling them he was a policeman.

He had other Arab and Asian accomplices, and together they stole Dh20,000. They all confessed to the charges and were referred to the public prosecution.
