Fujairah court sentences three to jail for drug possession

The Fujairah Court of First Instance has sentenced two men to four years in prison followed by deportation for possessing and consuming drugs.

Fujairah: The Fujairah Court of First Instance has sentenced two men to four years in prison followed by deportation for possessing and consuming drugs.

The first convict, an Iranian national, was also fined Dh1,000.

Both he and a Omani national were arrested by Fujairah Police's drug fighting unit after an unidentified amount of hashish was found in their possession.

In a separate case, another Omani was also convicted of possessing drugs with intent to consume and was also jailed for four years to be followed by deportation.
