Fujairah: A gang of four thieves who resided in Sharjah and travelled to rob construction sites in Fujairah were jailed for six months each by a Fujairah court.

One of the four Bangladeshi nationals also received an extra month and a deportation order for other immigration offences.

His appeal against the sentence was rejected by the Fujairah Appeal Court.

The four convicts were apprehended following extensive police work to identify the persons responsible for a spate of thefts from a number of construction sites in Fujairah.

Construction personal reported the theft of electrical cables and accessories from storage facilities in building sites across Fujairah city.

Confronted with the charges against them after their arrest, the four suspects admitted carrying out the thefts and their case was transferred to the Fujairah Public Prosecution.
