Four plead not guilty to fake Indian currency trading charges

Four suspects who are standing trial for possessing nearly Rs2 million (Dh152,277) in counterfeit Indian currency have pleaded not guilty.

Dubai: Four suspects who are standing trial for possessing nearly Rs2 million (Dh152,277) in counterfeit Indian currency have pleaded not guilty.

The anti-economic crimes section of Dubai Police arrested the suspects, two Indians, an Iranian and a Pakistani in a sting operation when they tried to sell an undercover policeman the counterfeited money.

The Public Prosecution charged the Indian driver R.P., his compatriot J.C., Pakistani businessman J.Z. and Iranian H.H., with possessing 3,898 Rs500 fake banknotes and which they intended to sell.
