Dubai: Four Asian drug dealers have been arrested by police in two separate cases in cooperation between the General Department for Combating Drugs at Dubai Police and anti-narcotics police.

Four arrested for smuggling drugs into UAE

Police said that the drug dealers were arrested after tracking them for more than three weeks. A team of anti-narcotic police headed by one of the officers in Sharjah Police arrested two accused last month after they raided two houses in industrial area 6, and Al Mussala area in Sharjah.
Major General Abdul Jalil Mahdi Mohammad Al Asmawi, head of the anti-narcotic department at Dubai Police and Vice Chairman of the Higher Committee for Drug Control in the country, said that the suspects were monitored and kept under vigil by the police as they were involved in trafficking drugs.
According to Colonel Ahmad Abdul Aziz, director of the anti-drug department at Sharjah Police, police received information that a 32-year-old Asian man identified as A. K h. working for a private company had in his possession a large quantity of drugs which he was planning to sell.
Colonel Abdul Aziz said that police officers arrested A.K. near his house in a labour accommodation complex in the industrial area.
“More than 538 capsules of heroin were found hidden in his room in one of the cupboards and at least five kilos of heroin was recovered in three plastic bags.”
Police said that the second accused, identified as Q. C. D., 42, was also traced and arrested from his home in Al Mussala area.
In another case Dubai Police arrested two Asian men for smuggling drugs and selling fake currency
Major General Al Asmawi said two Asians were arrested for selling 70 capsules of heroin to people in a parking area of Dragon Mall. He said a man identified as A.Q. was employed at a hotel in Dubai while Q.Kh.G. was a porter.
