Dubai: An Emirati on Sunday denied in court the charge of kidnap with deception of a waitress, who claimed he threatened to kill her if she reported to anyone that he raped her.

Prosecutors accused the 31-year-old Emirati suspect of tricking the 23-year-old Filipina waitress and kidnapping her in his car inside which he was charged with undressing, molesting and raping her.

"No, I am not guilty… and I did not threaten her, your honour," argued 31-year-old I.R. when he defended himself before the Dubai Court of First Instance.

According to the chargesheet, prosecutors accused I.R. of deceiving the waitress, M.L., and kidnapping her in his car. He was charged with undressing and molesting her and then having sex with her in the passenger seat.

M.L. told prosecutors that the defendant threatened to kill her and her family if she reported what happened to the police.

Prosecution records said the alleged incident happened after I.R. drove M.L. and her friends home after a friend's party in Satwa.

"My friend went home and I stayed back to ask I.R. to return the photocopy of my labour visa which he took from me at the party. I remained in his car after he asked me to speak to him … he drove for a while and then stopped in a sandy area. He immediately jumped on to my seat and abused me," the waitress claimed in her prosecution statement.

Presiding Judge Dr Ali Galadari adjourned the case until June 2.
