Dubai: A 26-year-old room service employee was found hanging from the ceiling of a store room by his work colleagues, at a five-star hotel in Dubai.

The Indian employee, K.A., chose to end his life after battling financial and personal problems in his home country, a police source said.

"We are still investigating the incident but we rule out any criminal intent," he said.

The employee had a night shift on Sunday and while he was on duty he went to the 14th floor. K.A. allegedly entered a store room on that floor and used a wire to hang himself.

"His colleagues were searching for him when they found him yesterday morning," he said.

This is the second suicide case in the same hotel within four months as reported by Gulf News.

A 38-year-old technician committed suicide while on duty in the same hotel.

He was found at midnight on December 26 by his supervisor on the basement floor with burn marks on his hands.

The Sri Lankan, G.H., had been asked to maintain the operation of a generator.

"Forensic experts confirmed the deliberate motivation of the technician to commit suicide from the marks and evidence found at the scene," a source said.
