Sharjah: An Indian man accused of stealing money from his company, was arrested by Sharjah Police on Wednesday.

The suspect, identified as A.A.A., was accused of stealing Dh200,000 from his company, transferring it to his personal account and fleeing to an unknown destination.

Al Hira police station received a complaint from the representative of one of the companies operating in the emirate saying that an employee had misused the authorisation granted to him by the company, and stolen Dh200,000 before fleeing to an unknown destination.

Police formed a team to track down the suspect and arrested him. The team managed to identify the whereabouts of the suspect and arrested him.

On searching the suspect’s house, police found Dh119,000 of the stolen amount. When police asked the suspect about the remaining amount, the suspect said that he had spent it.

The suspect has been referred to the public prosecution for further action.

Sharjah Police condemns such action and calls upon all institutions, companies and individuals to keep their valuables and particulars of financial transactions in a secure place to avoid such crimes.
