Dubai: Customers will soon be able to track the status of transactions with Dubai Police using advanced electronic procedures.
Dubai Police's Electronic Services Department has begun implementing an "electronic procedures system" which will help customers follow up on the transactions they require from Dubai Police's various departments.
The electronic system will contribute in completing the transactions quickly and inform the customers where the transactions have actually reached and how long it stayed with each party. The system can be used by both the public and the employees of the police department.
The system will change the culture of working at Dubai Police, said Brigadier Ahmad Hamdan Bin Dalmook, Director of the Electronic Services Department.
"The personnel working on completing the transactions will feel that they are being monitored by their manager as well as the customer because the system will show where the transactions have reached and how long it stayed with each concerned department or person," he said.
Brig. Bin Dalmook said the system has a psychological effect on the personnel concerned with respect to completing the customers' transactions, as they will be monitored by the system and each procedure they carry out is recorded and can be viewed by the customers.
"This system will also prevent the issue of lying because if anyone tried to lie regarding completing the transactions, he or she will be caught because the system records everything accurately and there is also the factor of transparency in dealing with the public," he said.
75 services
Brig. Bin Dalmook said the system has already been implemented in some departments and will offer 75 essential transactions for customers by the end of this year.
The services being offered for the public include, tracking payments by companies or contractors, applying for certificates of good conduct, request to visit inmates and other services.
The services offered for employees include, request for scholarships, insurance cover, medical treatment abroad, and other services.
The customers will also have access to contact numbers of departments concerned to inquire about the transactions.
The new system is the next phase of development. Three years ago Dubai Police had implemented the electronic messaging system.
The messaging system allowed Dubai Police to receive transactions electronically and respond to them besides following up on them.
Brig. Bin Dalmook said it is the first that anyone has a combination of the two systems.
"The two systems fall under the government business process automation which requires continuous follow up and constant monitoring by human resources," he said.
