Dubai: Police arrested two Asian men for trying to force a girl into prostitution.

The section looking into human trafficking cases at Dubai Police's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had received a tip-off that an Asian man, identified as M.T.A., was attempting to sell a girl to a prostitution ring.

The section formed a special team to follow up the lead and to catch the suspect red-handed.

CID agents tricked the main suspect into a "deal" and accompanied him to the location where the girl was being held.

Sleuths of the CID then raided the place and arrested the suspect along with his Asian partner, identified as S.T.

Police also arrested the girl along with another girl who was also to be similarly exploited.

Police referred all the detained people to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.

A CID police official said the section for combating organised crimes always followed up leads and never ignored any tip-off related to human trafficking. He called on the public to report cases that undermined human dignity and reflected badly on the values and principles of UAE society.
