Dubai police arrest suspect over series of car thefts

Dubai Police on Tuesday arrested a suspect who specialised in stealing cars which are left with their engines on.

Dubai: Dubai Police on Tuesday arrested a suspect who specialised in stealing cars which are left with their engines on.

Dubai Police's Criminal Investigation Department (CID), arrested an Asian man identified as M.A. who possessed a stolen four-wheel car using a stolen number plate, which was previously on a saloon belonging to a car rental company.

During interrogations, M.A. confessed to stealing a number of cars which were left with their engines on. He would steal the car then steal a number plate belonging to another car to fix on the stolen car.

He confessed to using the same method in stealing a number of cars from various emirates. It was revealed that he had a criminal record.
