Dubai: Police arrested an Arab man who tried to swindle Dh1 million from his uncle.

The suspect received Dh1.3 million from his uncle to be handed over to another man for a business deal.

After receiving the money, the suspect claimed that he was attacked by two African men at a parking lot in Deira, Dubai.

The suspect claimed that one of the men snatched the bag from him while the other pointed a knife at him. He said the two escaped in a taxi.

The Criminal Investigation teams, later, arrived at the apparent crime scene and gathered information.

Police suspected the man's story. On questioning again, the suspect fumbled and changed the story and finally confessed to stealing the money.

He told police that he had kept the money with one of his friends. Police arrested the friend who said he did not know what was in the bag.

The bag and money have been recovered and the suspects referred to the public prosecution.
