Drug smuggler tried to hide drugs under bandages wrapped around his legs
Dubai: Police say they have arrested a drug smuggler at Dubai International Airport who tried to hide drugs under bandages wrapped around his legs.
The suspect, N.A., arrived from Karachi and was on his way to Kuala Lumpur, was arrested for allegedly attempting to smuggle 3.16 kilogrammes of heroin under bandages around his legs.
Dubai Police said they received a tip-off stating that a drug smuggler had just left Karachi for Dubai. The suspect arrived and his luggage was checked, but the police failed to find anything.
When the suspect was personally checked, the police said they found plastic bags pressed around his legs under bandages. The bags contained more than 3 kilogrammes of heroin, they said.
Public help sought
A spokesman from the General Department for Combating Narcotics at Dubai Police said that Dubai Police were determined to stop any drug smugglers from using Dubai and that they were on the lookout for unusual methods of smuggling drugs.
