Dubai: The Dubai Courts Excellence Award has developed workforce performance and judicial services at the Courts Department since its inception three years ago, according to the department's director general.
"As part of our participation and competition in the Dubai Government Excellence Programme, we successfully achieved the highest performance development rate [13.7 per cent] among other departments. There was remarkable progress between 2006 and 2007. Group work among our employees and the staff determination to adopt world-class quality standards and to achieve departmental excellence were the main factors behind our distinguished distinction," said Dr Ahmad Bin Hazeem Al Suwaidi, Director General of Dubai Courts, during the Dubai Courts Excellence Award's distribution ceremony for 2008.
Addressing justice and government officials who attended the event at the Scientific and Cultural Association's auditorium in Al Memzar, Dr Al Suwaidi said: "The Courts Department is entering a new era during which we should be well-equipped and ready to face external challenges and internal difficulties. I am confident that we can pursue in succeeding and developing as long as we maintain seriousness and diligence in our work and excellence in the services that we cater."
Maryam Abdullah Bin Lahajj, Head of Quality Section at the Courts, announced that the Dubai Courts Excellence Award will include a new prize in the administrative excellence category and which will be 'the Best Court' in 2009.
