Dubai: Two men have been arrested in Kuala Lumpur International Airport on suspicion of attempting to smuggle around 10kg of the illegal stimulant drug Shabu.

The Asian men were arrested after collaboration between the Combating Narcotics Unit of Dubai Police and Malaysian auth-orities, according to a press statement.

The two suspects were allegedly planning to smuggle the stimulant drug Shabu from the Iranian island of Kish to Malaysia via Dubai International Airport.

Lim Liung Huk, Director's Assistant in the Cabinet Committee on Drugs in Malaysia, thanked Dubai Police and the Criminal Security of Dubai for their assistance in sharing information about the suspects.

Huk expressed his appreciation for the cohesive collaboration between the two countries in regard of combating drugs and its dangerous effects and hopes for more cooperation between the two countries that will result in the capture of more drugs smugglers.

"I am very happy with the fruitful results of the international cooperation between Dubai Police and the Malaysian Authorities, which has succeeded in capturing many drug smuggling operations and hindering their activities," said Major General Abdul Jaleel Mahdi, Director of the Dubai Police's General Department of Combating Narcotics.
