Dubai: Serious crimes in Dubai have fallen 34 per cent in the first quarter of 2010 over the same period last year, a senior Dubai Police officer has said.

Brigadier Khalil Ebrahim Al Mansouri, Director of the General Department for Criminal Investigations of Dubai Police, said the significant drop in crimes is attributed to strong coordination between different police departments and programmes implemented by police stations.

The crime prevention department, the crime monitoring department, criminal prosecution department, and the criminal investigations division within the General Department of Criminal investigations contributed to cut unresolved crimes, he said.

The drop in serious crimes such as armed robberies, assault, sexual harassment, murder, kidnap and suicide was the most in Bur Dubai Police station.
