Police arrested an Asian man for possessing 40kg of hashish in Deira, sources confirmed.
Dubai: Police arrested an Asian man for possessing 40kg of hashish in Deira, sources confirmed.
The suspect was arrested during a sting operation at Al Hamriya Central Market on December 7.
"We suspect that [the suspect] has been active in the region for a few years now because of some of the precautionary measures that he took during the transaction and the way he kept silent about his partners who are in other countries," said Major General Abdul Jaleel Mohammad, Director of the General Department of Combating Narcotics at Dubai Police.
Police searched the suspect's residence in Hor Al Anz area and found a 40kg stash of hashish valued at around Dh320,000, the sources added.
