Court acquits salesman of molestation
A salesman has been acquitted of parting open the abaya of a female student and molesting her while selling her incense.
Dubai: A salesman has been acquitted of parting open the abaya of a female student and molesting her while selling her incense.
The Dubai Court of First Instance cleared the 27-year-old Indian salesman of molesting the 23-year-old Emirati student due to uncorroborated evidence.
The Indian had earlier presented the court a written waiver which he obtained from the girl. The Public Prosecution charged him with molestation and breaching a woman's privacy by opening her abaya as he showed her an incense burner.
"I didn't molest her ... I just placed the incense burner in front of her abaya which I didn't touch," the suspect, M.M., told Presiding Judge Saeed Salem Bin Sarm earlier.
