Cook accused of sexually molesting co-worker for a year
Defendant denies charge of sexual molestation
The 22-year-old Filipina alleged that the 33-year-old Nepalese cook, L.K., harrassed her for a year in her new job.
“One day he came to the reception area where I work, and he spoke to me sweetly. Then he groped my bum, but I pushed him away and asked him to stop,” claimed the Filipina.
According to the accusation sheet, prosecutors said L.K. sexually molested his co-worker by groping her backside.
The man denied the charge at Dubai Court of first Instance.
The woman testified that the incident happened in the restaurant where she works on Shaikh Zayed Road.
“Since I joined work the suspect constantly harassed me verbally. He used to stalk me every time he had the chance to do so. He expressed that he loves me several times and constantly tried to talk me into becoming his girlfriend. I always rejected his proposal. One day he grabbed my bum and I immediately scolded him and asked him not to do that. He apologised and promised that it was the last time… but he continued harassing me. Then one day he came out from the kitchen and stood at the reception area. I put a piece of paper in my back pocket and suddenly he put his hand in the same pocket. He groped my backside for a few seconds until I turned back and slapped his arm strongly. I was infuriated with his non-stop harassment and verbal aggravation. I called my father and told him what happened before I reported the police,” claimed the Filipina.
A verdict will be heard on February 25.
