Dubai: The body of an Asian man was discovered in Deira’s Gold Souq toilets on Tuesday morning.
A Dubai Police official told Gulf News that cleaners found the man’s body locked in the toilets on the mezzanine floor at 5am.
The Indian man was a UAE resident in his late 50s. No more details were released about the man.
According to the police official, he could have died late on Monday night.
His body has been transferred to Dubai Police’s forensic laboratory to establish the cause of death. The police official said the man could have suffered a heart attack.
“The cause of his death will be known after the forensic doctors issue their final reports.”
Police say there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
Shopkeepers in the Gold Souq told police the dead man was a frequent customer.
Police said the case will be transferred to the public prosecutor.
