Dubai: A cleaner has denied stealing half a million dirham worth of gold from a renowned jeweller after concealing it in garbage bags in an attempt to steal them after work.

Records said the 29-year-old Indian suspect was discovered hiding the gold in garbage bags which he used to keep outside the jewellery store where he worked as a cleaner.

Surveillance cameras exposed him taking the garbage bags out after work and without allowing the security to search the garbage trolley.
