Dubai: A cleaner has been accused of repeatedly showing pornographic movies to an 11-year-old schoolboy before raping him twice in an underground car park.

Prosecutors charged the 33-year-old suspect, M.B., with using force to immobilise the schoolboy in the parking area, then undressing and raping him.

"No, I am not guilty. His parents know me well. I did not do such a thing… I want to hear his statement," said M.B., who is from Nepal, when he defended himself before the Dubai Court of First Instance yesterday.

Chief Prosecutor Younus Hussain Al Beloushi has asked for the implementation of the death penalty against M.B., who cleans air conditioning units.

Mobile number

According to the arraignment sheet, M.B. has been accused of raping a minor.

The boy's father testified that the mother of his child informed him that she found pornographic material on the Emirati schoolboy's mobile phone.

"My son told his mother that the suspect was the one who forwarded the indecent photos and pornographic materials to his mobile phone. When I asked my son about the nature of his relationship with the suspect, he told me that he had seen him earlier and shown him movies and photos. Then he took his mobile number and forwarded the pornographic materials to my son's phone. My son alleged that later the defendant raped him in our building's underground parking. My son also claimed to me that he was afraid to tell anyone that the suspect raped him… my son's mother had erased the indecent photos and movies," he told prosecutors.

Dubai Police's forensic laboratory confirmed that the boy had had sex.

The 11-year-old schoolboy claimed to prosecutors that the first time he met the suspect was when he asked M.B. to clean his mother's car. The defendant told him that he cleaned air conditioning units.

According to the boy's statement, he was raped for the first time three days after M.B. forwarded him the indecent material. The schoolboy alleged that M.B. took him to the parking area and raped him. The defendant then allegedly raped him a second time when M.B. spotted him on the street with his friends.

The court will appoint a lawyer to defend the suspect when it reconvenes on April 29.
