Classroom fire in Abu Dhabi put out before the arrival of students

The Civil Defence put out a fire that broke in a classroom in Al Afaaq Model School early on Tuesday. The minor blaze was extinguished before students started to arrive.

Abu Dhabi: The Civil Defence put out a fire that broke in a classroom in Al Afaaq Model School early on Tuesday. The minor blaze was extinguished before students started to arrive.

Dr Mughir Al Khaili, Director General of Abu Dhabi Education Council said the fire was under control before students entered school.

Top officials visited the school to examine the site of the fire that was caused by an electrical short circuit.

Safeya Mohammad, school principal, said students were transferred from the fire-hit classroom to another fully-equipped classroom.
