Dubai: The father of a four-year-old Pakistani boy, raped and killed on the first day of Eid Al Adha last month, gave a tearful testimony in court on Wednesday and asked for capital punishment for the suspect.

Mukhtiar Ahmad Khuda, 32, sobbed as he answered questions in Urdu and avoided looking at the suspect, R.R., who stood head down and avoided looking at Khuda throughout the 30-minute hearing.

Khuda said his son Mousa left the family's house in Al Qusais 3 with some friends and relatives on the morning of November 27.

Two witnesses - F.M., Emirati, and M.R., Indian - described the boy's condition when they found him inside the mosque's toilet. M.R. said when he saw the body, he noticed some bleeding in the lips but did not know if the boy was dead or alive. F.M. said as he went to the mosque to pray M.R. told him about a boy lying unconscious on the floor. F.M. then called the police.

The defence lawyer, did not cross-examine the witnesses. The next hearing is on January 3.
