Child born out of wedlock lands couple behind bars
A child, born out of an extra-marital relationship, has landed a Filipino couple behind bars.
Dubai: A child, born out of an extra-marital relationship, has landed a Filipino couple behind bars.
The Dubai Public Prosecution had charged the man, identified as J.R., and his mistress, identified as L.N., with having an illicit relationship. The woman was also charged with consuming liquor.
The Dubai Court of First Instance sentenced each of them to a month in jail on Monday. The woman was also fined Dh2,000 for taking liquor. They will be deported after serving their prison terms.
Police heard that the couple were having an illicit relationship and after the woman gave birth, the medical reports proved that J.R. was the father. They were taken in for questioning.
In their statement to the police and public prosecution, the couple confessed to the charges.
