Dubai: Police arrested an Asian suspect who was exploiting an Asian girl and forcing her into prostitution.

A police official from Dubai Police's Organised Crime Department at the CID, said police arrested the suspect after receiving genuine information and forming a team to look into the matter.

Investigations led to the arrest of the suspect identified as L.G. and the victim, whom the suspect held at a villa, was freed.

During interrogations with the suspect, he confessed that he brought the victim to the country after promising her a job as a receptionist at a company. However, he deceived her, exploited her difficult financial situations and forced her into prostitution.

The official said the suspect has been referred to public prosecution, while the victim was referred to Dubai Women's and Children's Foundation for psychological and moral support.

The official said Dubai Police "will continue to combat the crimes of human trafficking, which are alien to the society".
