Abu Dhabi: Al Ain Police have arrested a Bangladeshi man who had burgled villas in the city.

The police said that several residents had reported theft of their personal belongings from their residences in Al Foah and Mesebej areas, and that preliminary investigation showed that the robberies were committed at night.

Brigadier Hamad Al Amimi, director of the Al Ain Police Directorate, said that a team of officers formulated a plan that led to the identification of the suspect, 35, who was then arrested. The man, S.A.H., was taken into police custody where he was interrogated.

Brig Al Amimi urged tenants to secure their homes and not to leave doors unlocked. He also urged residents not to leave valuable belongings in unsafe areas, and to deposit them in secure places like banks.

The Ministry of Interior had recently launched a campaign titled “Our Property, Our Responsibility” to raise awareness on how to secure private and public property.
