A car accident victim who lost a toe and suffered serious damage to his leg was awarded Dh75,000 by Fujairah Civil Appeal Court on Monday.
Fujairah: A car accident victim who lost a toe and suffered serious damage to his leg was awarded Dh75,000 by Fujairah Civil Appeal Court on Monday.
Indian national, M.S., suffered the injuries back in 2006 in a car accident in Dibba Al Fujairah.
A medical report by a court appointed doctor revealed that M.S. lost the big toe in his left foot after it had to be amputated following the accident.
The report also said that the accident injuries had caused M.S. to lose 10 per cent of the use of his left leg.
The first trial, the Civil Court awarded M.S. Dh100,000 but the insurance firm lodged an appeal in which they contested that the victim should only receive Dh25,000.
The Civil Appeal Court rejected the appeal by the firm but reduced the final compensation claim to Dh75,000.
