Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Police say they have confiscated 100 kilograms of counterfeit designer brand sportswear.
In a statement, police said they arrested 10 people selling the products in several stores in various locations.
Dr Rashid Mohammad Bu Rasheed, Head of the Organised Crime Section at Abu Dhabi Police, said the suspects had admitted they were selling the counterfeit sportswear bearing the logos of internationally known brands.

"They were selling the products at higher prices and they admitted that they were selling most of the fake products during Ramadan," he said.
The official said the police received a tip-off from an international sportswear company outside the UAE about counterfeit products in the country.
Police said they immediately traced the offenders and closed around 10 shops that were selling the counterfeit products, such as T-shirts, sports shoes, pants and tracksuits.
