Ras Al Khaimah: A 30-year-old Egyptian construction labourer has allegedly raped a seven-year-old Pakistani girl at a construction site after he lured her with the promise of chocolate.

Sources in Ras Al Khaimah said the victim was an orphan who lost her parents in a road accident last year and was now living with her uncle N.A.

The girl was playing in front of her uncle's home in Al Jolan area, when the Egyptian labourer working in a house under construction on the opposite side spotted her.

The labourer got some chocolate and promised to give it to the little girl if she would go with him to the house under construction. The innocent girl followed him to one of the rooms in the house under construction, where he allegedly raped her several times.

Sources added that the next morning, the girl's uncle called on his niece to take her to school but his wife who knew what happened, told him the girl was sick and she could not go to school.

Complaint

The next day the uncle called on the girl, but his wife gave the same excuse which he did not accept and instructed his wife to get the girl ready to take her to the hospital.

After an argument between the husband and wife, the man found out what happened to his niece and instantly took the girl to Al Maamoura Police Station where he lodged a complaint. Al Maamoura Police Station initiated an immediate investigation and police found out that the accused was a construction labourer at the site opposite her uncle's house. Police detained all the labourers at the construction site and put them in a line-up. The girl identified the man.

During police interrogations with the labourer, he denied all the charges. He was later referred to the hospital and forensic expert conducted tests. The tests clearly showed that the Egyptian labourer raped the Pakistani girl. He was sent to jail and the case is expected to be referred to the Public Prosecution.

The family of the orphan Pakistani girl demanded that the Egyptian labourer be given the toughest penalty and the girl demand from authorities to execute him for his crime.

Sources here said that once the Egyptian national was confronted with the results of the medical tests he confessed to his crime.
