Dubai: A worker has been jailed for a month after he was caught exposing himself to housemaids in a villa next to the one he was working in.

The Dubai Misdemeanours Court jailed the 32-year-old Bangladeshi worker, M.N., for breaching the privacy of a number of housemaids and committing a lewd act in public.

An Emirati sponsor testified to prosecutors that he spotted M.N. in one of the rooms of the villa next to his house committing a lewd act.

The defendant pleaded not guilty. He will be deported after serving his jail term.

A policeman testified that he entered the claimant’s house after receiving a report about the man and caught him in the act at 11.30am.

The Emirati alleged that it was not the first time that he had seen the defendant doing this, the policeman said. The policeman said he saw the defendant exposing himself and waving to a housemaid.

“Immediately I called the defendant and asked him to cover up and come down. He apologised for his behaviour as soon as he arrived,” said the policeman.

The accused was cited admitting that he committed the offence.

When asked by prosecutors why he did so, he said: “The women laughed when I flashed at them. I was at fault … but I only did it one time.”
