Dubai: A female clerk has been jailed for one year for having paid sex with men across hotels in Dubai.
The 22-year-old Moroccan woman, G.B., was arrested inside a hotel room at 4.30am where she was having paid sex with a 23-year-old Kuwaiti employee, A.Y., in May 2014.
Prosecutors accused G.B. of prostitution and having consensual sex with A.Y.
The Dubai Court of First Instance’s presiding judge Mohammad Jamal said: “G.B. will be jailed for one year. She will also be placed under police supervision for a similar period.”
The Moroccan will be deported after serving her jail term.
A.Y. was earlier sentenced to three months in jail followed by deportation.
G.B. was quoted admitting to prosecutors that A.Y. was one of her clients and she used to have paid sex with him.
“He and other Arab men used to pay me Dh1,000 to Dh1,500 per night. I used to have paid sex with men in different hotels in Dubai,” she told prosecutors.
According to his prosecution statement, A.Y. was also quoted admitting that he paid G.B. Dh1,200 and had sex with her two times.
A.Y.’s ruling remains subject to appeal within 15 days.
