Dubai: A salesman has been accused of coercing two sisters into prostitution after he interviewed them on Skype and then flew them in to work in a salon in Dubai.

The 38-year-old Pakistani salesman, M.T., was said to have skyped with the Pakistani sisters, aged under 20, while they were in their hometown before he lured them to fly in to work in a beauty salon.

The sisters agreed to come and work here after they required to be accompanied by their mother and the daughter of one of them.

Prosecutors accused M.T. of confining the sisters and their family in a villa before he forced them to escort him to hotels where they were forced to dance and have sex with clients.

According to the charge sheet, prosecutors said M.T. committed a form of a human trafficking crime by forcing the women into prostitution under coercion and threatening to harm their family [their mother and daughter of the elder sister].

He was also accused of beating them, raping one of them and exploiting them sexually to make illegal benefits.

The suspect was additionally charged with running a brothel and making two other women work as prostitutes for him.

Two Pakistani men, M.K., a businessman, and R.M., a visitor, were charged with raping the two sisters.

The Pakistani trio pleaded not guilty and denied their accusations when they showed up before the Dubai Court of First Instance on Thursday.

The younger sister claimed to prosecutors: “My elder sister worked in a salon in Pakistan. He co-worker provided her with M.T.’s number to contact him regarding a job offer in Dubai. My sister contacted M.T. on Skype and he saw the two of us. He promised to have us hired in a salon once we arrive. He agreed that our mother and my niece accompany us to Dubai… he even comforted my sister when he claimed to her that the salon will be based in a mall where there is a children’s play area for her daughter and she doesn’t need to worry about my niece. Once we reached Dubai, he picked us from the airport and took us to stay in a villa in Al Baraha. He took our passports. At 8pm, he took my sister to what we thought wa a job interview… she returned at 3am. She seemed petrified. Then we discovered that she had been forced to work in prostitution. When we tried to leave, he threatened us and claimed that we had to work in prostitution until we pay back all the costs that he had incurred in bringing us to Dubai.”

Records said one of the sisters escaped from the hotel where she had been forced to dance and have sex with M.K. and R.M.

One of the sisters claimed to prosecutors that M.T. locked her up and forced her to call her father and ask him for the money that he [M.T.] had allegedly paid to bring them to Dubai.

The sisters claimed that they were beaten and coerced to work in the sex industry.

Police arrested the defendants one at a time.

The trial continues.
