Dubai Courts starts accepting applications for private notary public professionals June 1
Dubai: The Dubai Notary Public Law will have a positive impact on the business sector in Dubai and provide the Dubai Courts Department’s (DCD) clients with friendly solutions to process transactions.
“The new Law and its implications will have a far-reaching impact on many business sectors as it would provide clients with swift and speedy solutions. DCD’s clients will be served by certified private notary publics, who shall be deployed across Dubai,” said DCD’s Director General Taresh Al Mansouri on Wednesday.
Addressing a media gathering, Al Mansouri said DCD will start accepting new applications from private notary public professionals as of June 1.
“We will accept applications from individuals, who intend to pursue a career in the notary public professions in the emirate. This initiative is being carried out in accordance with the implementation of Law No 4 of Notary Public in Dubai that was issued by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai,” he added.
The law governs the work of both the notary publics of DCD and the private notary publics and lays out the necessary legislation for the profession, according to DCD’s Director General.
Al Mansouri further issued a decision concerning streamlining the work of both those offering private notary services and notary publics drawn from the staff of Dubai Government agencies.
The decision stipulates the setting of a ‘Notary Public Affairs Committee’, which will be chaired by the Head of the Court of First Instance of Dubai Courts.
The committee members are the Director of the Notary Public Department, the Head of the Private Notary Public Department and DCD’s notary publics.
“The law is intended to help DCD keep pace with the huge and rapid developments Dubai is witnessing. It will also promote the smart government transformation process, and raise the prominence of the Notary Public e-Services application, as well as contributing to the enhancement of UAE’s competitive potential in the World Bank’s ‘Ease of Doing Business’ report,” said Al Mansouri.
