Dubai: Two murderers, who are on death row for killing the wife of one of them, have been accused of killing a prostitute and disposing of her body between trees.

In February, the Dubai Court of First Instance sentenced an Indian husband, A.Q., to death for killing his wife in a fit of rage after she suspected him of committing adultery.

His Pakistani friend, R.A., was also handed the capital punishment for aiding and abetting A.Q. in murdering the wife and disposing of her body in Al Fuqa’a area in March 2013.

On Sunday, the duo [A.Q. and R.A.] showed up in courtroom three and denied the accusation of killing the Russian prostitute, only identified as K., and tossing her body between trees on the Dubai-Al Ain Road.

A.Q. and R.A. could face a second capital punishment after prosecutors also requested the implementation of the death sentence against them in the premeditated murder of the Russian woman in March 2010.

According to the charge sheet, prosecutors said A.Q. and R.A. intentionally killed K. before they disposed of her body in a bushy area where her body was discovered decomposed beyond recognition.

Court records show that the duo is scheduled to show up before the Appeal Court where they will stand trial in the wife murder case later this month. Meanwhile in K.’s murder case, the two men pleaded not guilty.

“I do not know anything about the murder…,” A.Q. was heard contending when he defended himself on Sunday.

Prosecution records confirmed that the body’s decomposition made it difficult for forensic examiners to specify the cause of her death.

An Indian salesman testified to prosecutors that A.Q. divulged to him that he had killed K. during a friend’s visit.

“Some time ago, the defendants, some friends and I went to visit our Nepalese friend at his residence. We were consuming alcohol on the rooftop when A.Q. took me aside and revealed to me that he had done something bad. When I asked him what he had done, A.Q. alleged that he was having a sexual affair with a Russian woman [whom he identified as K.]. He claimed that when he suspected that she had been cheating on him, he killed her. I did not take him seriously because friends and I were used to him exaggerating his heroics.

“When I did not believe him and thought that he had been joking, he took out a mobile and claimed that it belonged to K. He also showed me a few photos of them together. R.A. then came and stood beside us… he confirmed A.Q.’s claims and alleged that he aided and abetted him. Afterwards A.Q. disappeared suddenly and stopped answering our calls after his wife came from India. Afterwards we came to know from the police that A.Q.’s wife had been killed,” the salesman claimed.

Dubai Police’s forensic examiners estimated that K.’s body must have been discovered a week after her death.

Prosecution records said A.Q. was cited admitting to prosecutors that he and R.A. killed K. while he was being questioned over his wife’s murder.

The court will appoint two lawyers to defend the duo when it reconvenes on December 23.
