Saudi news site Sabq said that the young man never had any cosmetic surgery after his cousin accidentally poked his eye with a broom. When he grew up and wanted to get married, he could not find a woman who would take him as a husband.
His father, concerned about the rejection of his son as a husband, eventually said that the daughter of his sister should marry him for causing the disfiguration when both of them were children playing together.
The young woman’s father accepted the proposal and the couple got married last week, Sabq said on Sunday.
Online comments remarked that the young woman should not be held responsible for what happened when they were children, but said that the couple could live happily together.
